CAMESE holds AGM

Patrick Evans, president of SouthernEra Resources, will speak at the annual meeting of the Canadian Association of Mining Equipment and Services for Export (CAMESE), scheduled for Aug. 21 at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto.

The meeting will also feature a seminar on export trade finance, followed by a 5-course dinner at the JK ROM restaurant.

Coal conference in Whistler

Industry representatives will convene for the 44th Canadian Conference on Coal, slated for Sept. 7-10 at the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, in Whistler, B.C.

NWMA highlights Coeur d’Alene

The Northwest Mining Association’s 108th annual meeting, slated for Dec. 2-6 at the Doubletree Hotel City Center in Spokane, Wash., will focus on the Coeur d’Alene mining district in Idaho.

Also, the U.S. Forest Service will present a permitting workshop and short course on mineral development, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will give a presentation on restoring abandoned mine sites.

Plans also call for an all-day workshop on sustainable development and the Global Mining Initiative.

Quarry show gets bigger

The North American Quarry and Recycling Show, scheduled for Oct. 31-Nov. 2, 2003, will be held at the Georgian International Convention Center, near Atlanta’s main airport.

The show will have more than 200,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space.
