Gold-silver results are reported from a 17-hole program on Camnor Resources’ (VSE) Willoughby project, east of Stewart, B.C.
The junior is earning a half interest in Willoughby by spending $600,000 on exploration and paying $225,000 over three years. The other half is owned by Gold Giant Minerals (VSE).
The property is near the Red Mountain project of Lac Minerals, where more than 1 million oz. gold has been outlined.
At Willoughby, Camnor concentrated on four zones within or near a porphyry stock: North, Wilby, Ice Fall and Willow.
Drilling of the North zone outlined a mineralized vein stockwork in an altered porphyry. The structure, 100 ft. long and 210 ft. deep, is open downdip and along strike to the south.
Values include 19.7 ft. of 20.76 oz. silver and 0.53 oz. gold per ton for hole 94-26; 6.6 ft. of 5.35 oz. silver and 0.46 oz. gold for 94-27; 38.4 ft. of 3.20 oz. silver and 1.17 oz. gold for 94-15; 26.9 ft. of 0.14 oz. silver and 0.06 oz. gold (plus 19.7 ft. of 1.64 oz. silver and 0.06 oz. gold) for 94-16; 29.5 ft. of 0.83 oz. silver and 0.04 oz. gold for 94-17; 13.1 ft. of 0.14 oz. silver and 0.31 oz. gold for 94-18; and 1.42 oz. silver and 0.06 oz. gold over 9.8 ft. for 94-19.
Based on these results, Camnor is considering a small underground exploration program for next year.
The Wilby zone, defined by six holes, 1,400 ft. southeast of the North zone, measures 180 ft. long, 115 ft. deep and 85 ft. wide. Mineralization occurs as a replacement body of massive sulphides in an altered, bedded tuff open to the north and south. Hole 94-20 returned 19.7 ft. of 0.14 oz. gold; 94-21 returned 9.8 ft. of 0.03 oz. gold; and 94-22 returned intersections of 0.46 oz. gold over 13.8 ft., 0.12 oz. gold over 8.9 ft., and 0.26 oz. gold over 8.5 ft. No significant values were intersected by 94-23, while 94-24 returned 11.1 ft. of 0.13 oz. gold, and 94-25 graded 0.15 oz. gold over 21.6 ft. All holes returned nominal silver values.
Situated 650 ft. southwest of the Wilby zone is the Ice Fall zone. Drilled by Hole 94-28 in strongly altered, mineralized, bedded rocks, it returned values of 3.3 ft. of 0.23 oz. gold and 1.07 oz. silver, plus 4 ft. of 0.52 oz. gold and 1.29 oz. silver.
The Willow zone, drilled by one hole to test for continuation of mineralization from previously drilled holes, returned no significant values. Continued drilling of these targets is planned for next year.
