Camnor drilling provides encouragement at Willoughby

Drilling by Camnor Resources (VSE) is off to a promising start at the Willoughby gold property 26 km east of Stewart, in northwestern British Columbia.

The first hole of this year’s program intersected an attention-grabbing 38.4 ft. grading 1.17 oz. gold per ton on the North zone, although results from subsequent holes were less impressive. The North zone is reported to occur within an altered porphyry stock similar to the adjacent Red Mountain gold deposit of Lac Minerals.

Camnor is earning a 50% interest in the Willoughby property from Gold Giant Minerals (VSE) by spending $600,000 on exploration and making payments of $225,000 over three years.

The North zone has been tested by drilling over a strike length of 200 ft., and traced on surface for another 300 ft. before it disappears under glacial ice.

Results were released from other holes, and more drilling is planned to test the structure and define its high-grade plunge. Hole 94-16 returned a 26.9-ft. intersection grading 0.06 oz. and 19.7 ft. of 0.06 oz. Hole 94-17 returned 29.5 ft. of 0.04 oz., while Hole 94-18 returned 13.1 ft. of 0.31 oz. A 9.8-ft. interval of 0.06 oz. was reported from Hole 94-19. Results are awaited from this year’s drilling on a second zone, Wilby. Two other zones will be drill-tested this season.
