The target sits 4 km southwest of the AT-56 kimberlite, a small pipe discovered early last year by the joint venture during a first pass of drilling that tested 10 geophysical targets. The AT-56 body was found at the southern end of the Attawapiskat cluster of 19 pipes, just 4 km away from
Part of the Severn joint venture, under which the partners are exploring for diamonds in the James Bay Lowlands., the Kat project consists of over 200 sq. km of claims in the Attawapiskat area, which were acquired in 2000 following a review of airborne magnetic data. The joint venture subsequently flew the area with magnetic surveys totalling over 46,000 line km.
