Canarc hits high grade in Suriname

Canarc Resource (CCM-T) has intersected high-grade gold mineralization in two separate areas on the Sara Kreek property in Suriname.

Highlights of the recent phase-2 program include: hole EB-9705, which returned 6.96 grams gold per tonne over 13.5 metres (including 7.05 metres grading 11.66 grams); hole DP-9705, which intersected 2.89 grams over 16.6 metres; hole DP-9702, which hit 3.41 grams over 6.12 metres; and hole DP-9707, which returned 12.69 grams over 3.7 metres.

Drilling identified a principal zone of gold mineralization, as well as several parallel zones, over a 200-Metre length in the Breakfast prospect and 150 metres of strike in the Parbo prospect.

The company is awaiting results from four additional holes and intends to sink a minimum of 50 more.

The two prospects lie along a strongly anomalous, north-Northwest-oriented gold trend about 7 km long.

“Further drilling is needed to establish a geological resource by year-end,” says exploration manager Godfrey Walton, who adds that, to date, the length, width and grade of the principal gold zone confirm the potential for more than 1 million oz.

Bulldozer trenching is attempting to expose and extend the main zone of gold mineralization prior to the resumption of drilling. Meanwhile, soil sampling and deep augering are being completed on the nearby Kami and Parrot gold prospects.
