Initial trenching results from the South Elena gold prospect of CaribGold Resources (CG-T) have revealed impressive gold values.
The discovery, situated in the Camaguey concession, has been traced over a strike length of 200 metres and is thought to be part of a quartz vein system between two epithermal centres.
The discovery trench exposed a 39-metre-wide quartz vein, which returned average gold values of 7.46 grams per tonne. The vein was exposed 100 metres along strike to the southeast by trenching and returned 3.11 grams gold over 5.4 metres. A third trench, 100 metres northeast of the discovery trench, encountered a 13-metre width of the vein. Assay results were not available.
Meanwhile, assay results from seven diamond drill holes on the Guadalupe prospect have been released. Highlights include 0.82 gram gold and 1.65% copper over 13.45 metres in hole 1 and 4.28 grams gold and 5.29% copper over 1.5 metres in hole 5.
CaribGold will continue drilling the South Elena prospect and other Cuban properties.
