Casino drilling to escalate

With four rigs already turning at the Casino property in the southern Yukon, Pacific Sentinel Gold (VSE) is planning to mobilize at least one more to the property in June.

The drilling is part of a $7.2-million program to determine the size and grade of a large copper-gold-molybdenum deposit which was partly drilled-off in the 1970s.

Consultants Archer, Cathro and Associates have calculated a preliminary inventory of 417 million tons grading 0.30% copper, 0.025% molybdenum and 0.01 oz. gold per ton. The estimate is based on 37,000 ft. of small-diameter (BQ) diamond drilling and 14,000 ft. of larger-diameter rotary drilling in the 1970s.

Drilling last year, including 21 larger-diameter holes totaling 15,500 ft., returned significantly higher assays for all three metals.

The large-diameter drilling completed to date (excluding Hole 93-148) covers an area measuring about 3,000 ft. east-west by 2,000 ft. north-south.
