Cassidy active in Guinea

Vancouver — Drilling by Cassidy Gold (CDY-V) has extended the Sanu Filanan zone on the Kouroussa property in Guinea, West Africa.

Highlights include: Hole 126 — 9.23 grams gold per tonne over 7.78 metres (true thickness) from a depth of 155 metres; Hole 127 — 6.96 grams over 10.25 metres at 119 metres down-hole; Hole 128 — 39.63 grams over 6.43 metres at 74.7 metres down-hole; Hole 132 — 85.27 grams over 1.91 metres starting at 55.8 metres down-hole, and 4.4 grams over 3.54 metres starting at 143 metres down-hole; Hole 139 — 10.34 grams over 11.28 metres from 114 metres down-hole (including a 6.36-metre interval of 17.77 grams gold). At 94 metres down, this hole intersected 9.87 grams over 2.12 metres.

“The results attest to the strength of the mineralizing system,” says Cassidy Gold President James Gillis.

RSG Global is performing a resource estimate based on diamond drilling in the Sanu Filanan zone, as well as the JJ zone. The two sub-parallel, en echelon structures are 300-400 metres apart.

Cassidy reports encouraging results from reverse-circulation (RC) drilling on both zones. Hole 27 intersected 17.58 grams gold over 16.45 metres (from 11 metres down-hole), and hole 20 cut 29.13 grams gold over 1.5 metres (at 78 metres down-hole).

To date, the RC program has spanned 3,500 metres.

The company plans six more diamond drill holes in the X-Vein area, where previous drilling returned 4.32 grams gold over 7.8 metres and 151.8 grams over 2 metres.

The Kouroussa project comprises 880 sq. km and is envisaged as an open-pit mine with underground potential.
