Drilling on the Taysan project in the Philippines is confirming expectations of Chase Resource (VSE).
Chase is working to identify a higher-grade core of copper-gold mineralization within an estimated preliminary reserve of about 544 million tonnes grading 0.3% copper and 0.3 grams gold per tonne.
Previously released holes CT-1 and CT-2 intersected the higher-grade core. They returned 216 metres grading 0.53% copper and 0.34 grams gold and 191 metres grading 0.52% copper and 0.33 grams gold, respectively. Hole CT-3, drilled on the eastern flank of the orebody, also encountered higher-than-expected results, grading 0.5% copper over the first 232 metres. Consultant Fluor Daniel Wright will re-evaluate reserves on completion of the current drilling. The program is expected to continue through May. Chase plans tunnelling, bulk-sampling and metallurgical testing as part of a second phase.
