The first two rounds from drifting completed by partners Chesbar Resources and Murgold Resources have returned high grade gold assays. The work is being carried out on the Chester Twp., Ont., property located southwest of Gogama.
A 1,420-ft decline ramp has intersected the No 3 mineralized zone at a depth of 175 ft. The first and second drift rounds in the zone assayed 1.18 oz and 1.39 oz gold per ton respectively. The vein averaged 4 ft in width on this level.
In addition to drifting on the vein, other parallel mineralized zones are being examined by underground drilling. Also, the partners plan to extend the ramp in order to access the No. 3 vein at deeper levels.
Drilling completed this year has tested the zone along a strike length of 412 ft and to a depth of 300 ft. The zone is known to strike for 2,800 ft and remains open in both directions and at depth, the partners say. Chesbar holds a 60% interest in the property whereas Murgold has a 40% interest.
