Citadel issued with summons

A summons has been issued to Citadel Gold Mines (TSE) and two of its officers regarding alleged failure to submit a closure plan for the Surluga gold mine property in the Wawa area of northeastern Ontario during the period Sept. 30, 1994, to Feb. 17, 1995.

The charge is pursuant to section 147(4) of the Mining Act.

The company said in a press release that it is surprised by the allegation, given its ongoing discussions with the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines regarding the closure plan.
