The mining recorder’s office in Kirkland Lake, Ont., has become the ninth provincial site to offer electronic access to information on mining claims.
This has been made possible by the expansion of the CLAIMS Client Service (CCS) component of the Computerized Mining Lands Information Management System.
CCS allows clients to conduct their own searches of claim records, then print abstracts and reports on terminals in the mining recorder’s office. Through CCS, clients have access to township reports, which list all claims and owners within the township; client reports, which list all claims held in the mining division by the client; and an abstract summary, a compilation of information found on an abstract.
