In an effort to expand its global footprint, consultant Coffey Mining, part of Coffey International, has announced plans to open a Canadian division with an office in Toronto.
“Canada is one of the world’s leading mining capital markets and mineral exporters,” said Norman Lock, regional manager of the Canadian division of Coffey Mining, in a release. “Coffey Mining recognizes the enormous opportunities of this region.”
The company’s new division will provide consultancy services from feasibility studies to mine closure plans for projects in North America.
Coffey says record half-year profits give it an upper hand over potential competitors in the region.
“When this downturn ends, the Coffey group will have diverse exposure to the Canadian market that will see us able to move forward at a much greater pace than would otherwise be the case,” Lock noted.
And to capitalize on the economic uncertainties facing the mining sector, Coffey says it has tailored its services to help companies build business plans that match the current conditions.
Coffey International has been in business for 50 years and is made up of a variety of specialist businesses geared towards social and physical infrastructure and consultancy.
