Comtois grades confirmed

Results are in from the three latest holes by Maude Lake Exploration (MAU-V) on the Colline de l’ouest zone on the Comtois gold property, west of Lebel-sur-Quevillon, Que.

Hole 82 cut 11.2 metres (from 74.2 metres below surface) grading 3 grams gold per tonne. Hole 85 returned 3 metres (from 227.8 metres) of 8.6 grams and hole 86 yielded 2.5 metres (from 231.9 metres) of 14.4 grams gold.

Channel sampling at Colline de l’ouest earlier in the summer returned 1-metre intervals of between 4.5 and 26.7 grams gold.

Maude Lake says the latest holes indicate a mineralized zone, which may add substantially to Comtois’s indicated resources, which stand at more than 1.8 million tonnes running 4.5 grams gold, including 695,485 tonnes of 9.05 grams.

Gold mineralization at Comtois is hosted by a 1.2-km-long corridor of felsic volcanic rocks that remains open both to the east and west.

On the financial front, Maude Lake is completing a public offering of 80% flow-through shares. The proceeds are earmarked for exploration programs at Comtois and the Fregate diamond property also in Quebec.

Maude Lake acquired a half-interest in the 130 claims owned by Cameco (CCO-T) at the 185-claim Comtois gold property after completing holes 80 and 81. The work brought the company’s expenditures on the Cameco option to $1.3 million. The holes are part of a 6,000-metre drill program that is expected to last until the end of January.

A further 2,000 metres of drilling will soon begin.
