The natural resources department of the New Brunswick government will host its Annual Review of Activities conference Nov. 1-3 at the Sheraton Inn in Fredericton.
The event will include an address by George Miller, former president of the Mining Association of Canada, as well as technical programs, field trips and a trade show.
Technical programs will focus on industrial minerals, Carlin-type gold deposits, gold and base metals in the Miramichi deposit, gold in the Bathurst camp, and bedrock mapping.
Delegates will be offered a field trip to the St. Stephen’s area to view economic nickel-copper-cobalt deposits of the St. Stephen’s gabbro, and to the St. George area to view base metal-bearing sulphides and associated sedimentary rocks.

Next door, in Maine, that state’s geological survey will host its regional conference from Oct. 29 to 31 at the Ramada Inn in Bangor.
Technical sessions will include reviews of known occurences, including volcanogenic massive sulphides and nickel-cobalt-platinum-group-element deposits, as well as Bald Mountain.
Excursions to the Blue Hill sulphide deposits and the Bald Mountain massive sulphide deposit will also be offered.
