CORRECTION (December 21, 1998)

In our Nov. 30 issue, we incorrectly stated that startup of the Diavik diamond project in the Northwest Territories was set for the second quarter of 2001. Startup is scheduled for the second quarter of 2002. The project is operated by 60%-owner Diavik Diamond Mines, wholly owned by Rio Tinto (RTPN). Aber Resources (ABZ-T) has a 40% interest.
