During that period, Seabright was considered an emerging gold producer with operations based in Nova Scotia. In late 1987, Western Mining, an Australian mining company, paid more than $90 million for 100% of Seabright. Since then, none of Seabright’s mining projects have yielded gold production of any significance. Reserves and grade at the Forest Hill and Beaver Dam projects have been vastly downgraded by Westminer, Western Mining’s Canadian affiliate.
The Gays River mill, designed to handle gold ore from both projects, has been converted to process zinc-lead minerals.
