DIAMOND PAGE — Caldera advances Abminga project

The Abminga diamond exploration project of Caldera Resources’ (CDR-M) in South Australia has been granted “project status” by South Australia’s mines ministry.

The new status allows Caldera to treat its 14 separate exploration licences at Abminga as a single unit for meeting expenditure commitments and reporting purposes. The company says the new title will result in more efficient administration and exploration programs, as well as increase the flexibility in allocating resources.

The Abminga project contains more than 250 magnetic targets, which are thought to be possible pipe structures. Some of these pipes were recently drilled and shown to have diamond-bearing potential, which Caldera will continue to test in a deep drilling program.

Holes will be drilled to a minimum depth of 400 metres and provide for bulk samples of up to 40 kg. Samples taken from previous drilling weighed 3 kg, as the company was testing only for indicator minerals.
