Vancouver-based Trivalence Mining (TMI-V) has identified a new kimberlite at its 85%-owned Aredor diamond concession in Guinea, West Africa.
The K-21 pipe was found 3 km south and upstream of the junior’s alluvial mining operations. Crews collected about 3 tonnes of kimberlite from several pits over K-21. Under the supervision of field geologist Jennifer Pell, this material was hand-jigged on site to recover indicator minerals. Seven diamonds weighing 3.54 carats were recovered, with the largest stone weighing 2 carats. Equipment is now being mobilized to the site in order to extract a bulk sample that will be processed at the company’s plant this month.
