DIAMOND PAGE — Golconda eyes California gems

A sampling program by Golconda Resources (GA-A) will test claims in northern California deemed prospective for diamonds.

The junior recently signed an agreement to acquire the claims, which cover an olivine lamproite breccia with indicator minerals believed to have formed in the diamond stability field.

Golconda notes that diamonds up to 1 carat in size have been documented in creek gravels near the pipe. These diamonds are described as being of gem quality and range in color from white to lilac. The largest on record is 6 carats.

Golconda has shipped samples from the pipe to the Saskatchewan Research Council for test work. This year’s work program will include more detailed sampling of the pipe.

Meanwhile, in Nevada, Golconda is gearing up for a drilling program at its Ralston Valley gold prospect.
