With its new 14-ft. commercial pan plant up and running, Trivalence Mining (TMI-V) continues to crank out diamonds at its 85%-owned Aredor alluvial operation in Guinea, West Africa.
For the month of May, the company processed 38,085 tonnes of alluvial material and recovered 2,962 diamonds weighing 2,596 carats. The average weight of the stones is 0.88 carat and 53 stones exceeded 5 carats.
The company’s tailings plant processed 17,231 tonnes of tailings yielding 148 diamonds weighing 152 carats. Stones derived from the tailings averaged 1.02 carats and 2 stones weighed more than 5 carats.
The six largest stones recovered at Aredor during May weigh 14.2, 12.6, 11.7, 9, 8.8 and 7.9 carats.
By late July, Trivalence expects to receive results from a 5-tonne kimberlite sample taken from Aredor’s largest known kimberlite, the K-7.
The Guinean government holds a 15% interest in the Aredor project.
