DIAMOND PAGE — Trivalence reports snags at Aredor mine property

Although hampered by heavy rains and a high sand content, Trivalence Mining (TMI-V) managed to recover 4,783 carats of diamonds from its Guinean concession in the third quarter.

More than 129,000 tonnes of gravels yielded 4,486 carats at the Aredor alluvial property, where 297 carats also were recovered from 65,459 tonnes of tailings.

Heavy rains diluted diamond-bearing gravels, and sand inhibited the recovery of diamonds at the plant.

Sales of diamonds by the company during the third quarter amounted to $1 million. The company sold 3,341 carats for an average price of US$316 per carat.
