Dianor grabs gold, copper near James Bay

Prospecting by Dianor Resources (DOR-M) has turned up three new showings at its MEP 1404, Yasinski and Yasinski North properties, about 45 km southeast of the town of Radisson near James Bay, Que.

Grab samples from the Autobus showing returned values of up to 2.1% copper plus 1.62 grams gold and 22.6 grams silver per tonne. Mineralization is associated with pyrite and chalcopyrite in the hangingwall of a 2-metre-wide quartz vein in the eastern part of the property.

In the northern part of the property, the Iron Jack showing returned values as high as 8.37 grams gold associated with pyrite-rich zones in iron formations of the Ekomiak formation.

In between these two is the Ekomiak showing, where grab samples from a 100-metre, pyrite-bearing shear zone returned up to 16.59 grams gold per tonne.

The recent showings come on the heels of the discovery of six other surface gold showings. Assays of grab samples from those outcrops ranged from 2.83 to 66.99 grams gold.
