Two more macrodiamonds have been found by Ditem Explorations (ME) in a 75-kg stream sample from the Temiscamingue property near the Quebec town of the same name.
One of the stones has a slight yellow coloration, is oval in shape and measures 3.42 by 2.6 mm. The other is clear-white and spherical, with a diameter of 1.6 mm.
The Temiscamingue property comprises 1,100 claims. Last year, Ditem recovered 12 diamonds from surface samples taken from a large ring structure of exposed peridotite. The largest stones recovered include a clear-white macrodiamond measuring 1.03 mm and a microdiamond measuring 0.46 mm.
More recently, Ditem recovered three “gem-quality” diamonds from a 25.2-kg sample taken from a surface outcrop. The most significant of these measures 1.5 by 1.05 by 0.6 mm.
Meanwhile, Marum Resources (ASE) has announced plans to join in the exploration of the property.
The exploration contract will be an option agreement whereby Marum will earn a 50% interest in 350 of Ditem’s claims by paying 400,000 shares and spending $1.5 million on exploration over a 3-year period. Both parties will have a 30-day option to buy a 25% working interest on any new claims staked by the other by making a cash payment of 25% of the total acquisition costs.
