Dome completes Melrose drilling

Dome Mines has completed a 21,444-ft diamond drilling program on a claim group held by Melrose Resources in Blackstock Twp., Ont. Located 30 miles southeast of Timmins, the claims cover ground on which several boulders displaying visible gold were discovered. Dome, which has the right to earn a 60% interest in the claims, is drilling to find the bedrock source of the gold- bearing float. Initial drill results include 10 ft grading 0.08 oz gold per ton and 4 ft assaying 0.14 oz, Melrose says. Dome is reviewing the data and is expected to mount another drill program this spring. Dome must spend $1 million by July 1, 1991, inorder to earn its interest. To date, $800,000 has been spent.
