Tanzanian-focused mineral exploration company Douglas Lake Minerals (DKLM-O) has contracted Tanzanian Mineral Exploration (Tanzminex) to prepare a resource estimate for the company’s Mbwemkuru alluvial gold project.
Based in Arusha, Tanzania, the consulting company was selected based on its knowledge of local customs and language, as well as its specialization in alluvial deposits.
Tanzminex, which has a permanent staff of 14 Tanzanians, including four geologists, lawyers, mechanics and skilled exploration workers, is described as having the necessary equipment on hand to see the project through to production.
Tanzminex will begin work on the alluvial deposit immediately, as Tanzania’s Mining Act requires that a resource be defined on at least part of a property before a mining licence can be granted.
