Drill turning at Holly Gold

Joint-venture partners Radius Explorations (RDU-V) and Lalo Ventures (LAL-V) intend to test at least six targets with a minimum of 1,000 metres of drilling at the Holly Gold prospect in eastern Guatemala.

A comprehensive geochemical sampling program by Radius’ field crews showed evidence of low-sulphidation, high-grade gold and silver veins, as well as bulk-style disseminated gold mineralization. Over 1,500 rock and soil samples were collected from the property.

Selected highlights from hand-trenching included: 25.4 grams gold and 176 grams silver per tonne across a width of 3.8 metres at Holly Ridge South; 5.5 grams gold and 47 grams silver over 8 metres width at Holly Ridge North; 5.3 grams gold and 60 grams silver across 18 metres at the Trail zone; 25.5 grams gold and 122 grams silver over 6 metres at Trench Ridge; and 40 metres of 1.69 grams and 5.1 grams silver exposed in a road cut alongside the paved highway.

A recently completed induced polarization (IP) geophysical survey confirmed possible targets at depth and in areas of post-mineral cover.

Lalo Ventures can earn a 50% interest at Holly Gold by spending $2.5 million over three years. Radius remains the operator of the work program.

Elsewhere in Guatemala, Gold Fields (GFI-N) of South Africa has recently completed a drilling program at the Bella Vista project in the central part of the country, with results pending. Gold Fields can earn an initial 55% interest from Radius in the Tambor, Bella Vista and Tierra Blanca properties by spending US$5 million over 3.5 years. The drill rig has been moved to the Lupita zone at the Tambor property.
