The latest hole in an ongoing drill program at the Platreef platinum-palladium-rhodium-gold (PGM) property in South Africa has hit mineralization 200 metres along strike of the previously known zone.

Mineralization has now been cut over an 800-metre strike length north of the adjoining Anglo-American Amplats property. According to Anooraq, mineralization remains open to the north and downdip to the west, with 9.4 km of the prospective horizon still to be tested.
Holes 1 through 13 tested a 600-metre strike-length segment of the Platreef horizon. Based on the assays received to date, which are highlighted in the accompanying table, platinum represents 41% of the total PGM value; palladium, 51%; rhodium, 2%; and gold, 6%. The average base metal content (copper plus nickel plus cobalt) in the Platreef intersections is 0.25%.
Anooraq’s drill program started in early February and the junior has now completed 15 holes totalling 2,822 metres. The drilling continues to test the Platreef horizon in the southern portion of Drenthe Farm and the strike extension north towards Witrivier Farm.
The Platreef horizon forms the base of the Bushveld intrusive complex, which trends through the Amplats and Platreef properties. It is equivalent to the highly productive Merensky Reef in the western portion of the Bushveld complex. The prolific horizon dips moderately to the west, affording targets for both open-pit resources and underground downdip extensions.
