Drilling on El Dorado project

In El Salvador, a drill program of 8,000 metres is continuing on the gold project known as El Dorado, with crews focusing on three vein systems: El Dorado, La Coyatera North and Nueva Experanza.

The project is a joint venture among three Toronto-listed companies: Mirage Resources (with a half interest) plus Bethlehem Resources and Dejour Mines (each of which holds 25%).

The drilling has occurred along strike and beneath the old mine workings of El Dorado. A significant intersection of the Minita-Minita 3 vein in Hole K94-70 returned 24.9 metres of 13.62 grams gold and 120.12 grams silver per tonne. In the same hole, an intersection of the Portillo vein returned 0.6 metres of 13.40 grams gold and 87.20 grams silver.

Hole K94-69 intercepted the Moreno vein and its splits, returning: 6.1 metres of 4.36 grams gold and 9.68 grams silver; 10.7 metres of 3.45 grams gold and 12.26 grams silver; 4.6 metres of 7.45 grams gold and 31.43 grams silver; and 3 metres of 6.38 grams gold and 28 grams silver.

The Zancudo vein, encountered in Hole K94-67, returned 3.1 metres of 4.52 grams gold and 16.90 grams silver. The same hole intersected the Minita and Minita 3 veins, returning 0.6 metres of 8.6 grams gold and 61.3 grams silver plus 2.1 metres of 29.27 grams gold and 223.68 grams silver. Further results are pending for La Coyatera North and Nueva Experanza. A prefeasibility study is expected to begin early next year.
