Vancouver – The Turkish subsidiary of Teck Cominco (TCK-T, TCK-N) has pulled the best gold intersection to date from the Agi Dagi project, a joint venture with Fronteer Development Group (FRG-T, FRG-X) in Turkey. Hole AD-212 intersected 3.96 grams gold per tonne over 111.3 metres, including 7.1 grams gold over 15 metres.
Teck Cominco is operator and has rights to earn a 60% interest in the Agi Dagi project by spending US$10 million over two years. The highlight of the ongoing drilling was the aforementioned hole, which intersected mineralization 150 metres to the west of the current Deli resource area.
Other significant results from the drill program include: 2.78 grams gold over 8 metres; 2.15 grams gold over 6.15 metres; 1 gram over 37.5 metres; 5.42 grams gold and 31.17 grams silver over 9.6 metres; and 3.21 grams gold over 7.25 metres.
One hole intersected several distinct gold-silver zones: 0.57 gram gold over 22.5 metres; 0.75 gram gold and 54.68 grams silver over 15.2 metres; and 0.66 gram gold and 53.81 grams silver over 21.2 metres.
The Agi Dagi project hosts two main resource areas (Deli and Baba) containing 217,000 oz. gold in the indicated category (oxides and sulphides), plus another 1.04 million oz. in the inferred category. Fronteer notes that recent drilling has shown potential to add “significant ounces” to the current resource base.
