Infill drilling by Kinross Gold (K-T) on the Gil joint venture property near Fairbanks, Alaska has returned more encouraging results for Teryl Resources (TRC-V).
Hole 264 on the Main Gil deposit returned 47.3 metres (from 6.1 metres below surface) grading 1.57 grams gold per tonne, including 24.4 metres of 2.04 grams, and 19.8 metres of 1.2 grams.
Two holes targeted the little-drilled southwestern portion of the North Gil deposit. Hole 262 cut 4.6 metres (from 19.8 m) grading 3.26 and 3 metres running 2.98 grams gold. Hole 263 encountered five significantly mineralized intervals running between 1.3 and 3.6 grams gold over widths from 1.5-17 metres.
A single hole on the Slippery Creek prospect returned 6 metres of 2.67 grams gold.
Another lone hole on the Sourdough Ridge prospect yielded 3 metres running 1.136 grams gold.
Late last year, drilling and trenching by Kinross at Sourdough turned up a new zone of mineralization. Hole 267 cut 4.6 metres of 16.8 grams gold, including a 1.5-metre section averaging 45.9 grams. Trenching returned up to 3 metres of 4.03 grams gold.
Teryl believes the high-grade values may continue to the northeast.
Kinross has an 80% stake in the Gil prospect; Teryl owns the remaining 20%. The prospect contains a drill-indicated 9.7 million tonnes grading 1.37 grams gold per tonne.
