Dumont nixes work at Attawapiskat

Dumont Nickel (DNI-V) has suspended exploration drilling on its 235-sq.-km land package in the Attawapiskat region of northern Ontario after failing to encounter any kimberlite in the first two targets tested.

The junior originally had planned to test eight of 25 magnetic features identified from aeromagnetic surveys. The two holes completed intersected only limestones, and the magnetic anomalies are attributed to basement magnetic features. Dumont is re-assessing its geophysical data.
