Dunlap drilling Century property

Drills are turning on the Century gold property in Idaho.

Dunlap Resources (VSE) is earning a 60% interest in the project from Cactus West Explorations (VSE) by spending US$1 million.

Geological mapping, geophysical surveying and soil geochemical sampling have outlined three targets. Drilling is occurring first on the South China Gulch area, where a large induced-polarization anomaly, measuring 3,200 by 800 ft., coincides with anomalous gold and arsenic values.

The property is on the southwestern portion of the Trans Challis fault system, a major precious metal trend extending northeastward through Idaho and Montana. The trend comprises such bulk-tonnage deposits as FMC’s Bear Track (40 million tons grading 0.05 oz. gold per ton) and Hecla Mining-Great Lakes Minerals’ Grouse Creek (15.1 million tons at 0.05 oz. gold).
