Eastfield hits high grade at Lorraine

Vancouver — Eastfield Resources (ETF-V) has tabled encouraging results from two more holes drilled on the Lorraine copper-gold-palladium property in north-central British Columbia.

This year’s program, budgeted at $500,000, has focused on expanding the existing resource. Previous work outlined a resource of 32 million tonnes containing 0.66% copper, plus 0.17 gram gold and 4.7 grams silver per tonne. Occurrences of platinum group elements are being investigated also. The project currently consists of 1,002 contiguous claims covering 240 sq. km. The property is northwest of Prince George.

Recent drilling focused on the southern edge of the Lower Main zone. Hole 60 was sunk 80 metres south of hole 48, which had returned 52.9 metres grading 0.84% copper and 0.36 gram gold. Hole 60 cut 113.2 metres grading 0.76% copper and 0.49% gold starting at a down-hole depth of 32.8 metres. This included a 34-metre section of 0.88% copper and 0.58 gram gold, as well as a 33.3-metre section of 1.22% copper and 0.8 gram gold.

Hole 59, collared 120 metres north of hole 48, cut 30.5 metres grading 0.51% copper and 0.23 gram gold starting at a down-hole depth of 163.7 metres. The results indicate the mineralization remains open to the south, beyond the drill grid, and that it strengthens and thickens in that direction.

The junior stands to earn up to a 75% interest from Lysander Minerals (LYM-V) by spending $4 million on exploration, paying $550,000 in cash or shares, and completing a feasibility study.
