Eden Roc Mineral continues drilling

While one drill focused on near-surface exploration on Eden Roc’s (TSE) Ivory Coast property, a second has been defining the Brahima deposit in preparation for mining startup this fall.

The Brahima is Eden Roc’s second open-pit deposit to be mined. This and other drilling increases Eden Roc’s “reserve” to 845,000 contained ounces. Its target is a 1-million-oz. reserve by the end of 1994, though a company press release did not specify whether this would be classified as proven, probable or possible.

Exploratory drilling, meanwhile, along the Afema shear structure, has turned up the following values in the J zone:

Hole No. Oz./ton Feet

XJ-19-94 0.278 10

XJ-20-94 0.044 46

XJ-21-94 0.074 66

XJ-22-94 0.143 16

XJ-23-94 0.217 26

XJ-24-94 0.090 16

XJ-25-94 0.113 16

XJ-26-94 0.082 26
