The program is designed to test the oxide gold potential of a northwesterly trending, 300-by-700-metre zone in which trench, pit and outcrop samples average better than 1 gram per tonne. The zone is in a larger, 700-by-1,600-metre gold-in-soil anomaly that is underlain by strong induced-polarization and resistivity anomalies. The anomalies are believed to represent sulphides and silicification at depth, below the oxides.
Energold plans to drill 1,000 metres in 17-20 holes to a depth of 50 metres. At least two holes will be drilled to a depth of 100 metres to test the oxide-sulphide contact and to test the sulphide potential.
The concession is 3.5 km southwest of the Pueblo Viejo gold mine.
