Energold remains hopeful in D.R.

Results are in hand from 10 of 15 holes drilled to test the Centenario gold deposit in the Dominican Republic.

Energold Mining (EDG-V), which recently completed the third phase of drilling, reports that assays from five additional holes are pending.

The highest-grade intercept was encountered in hole 84, which returned 4.4 metres grading 16.4 grams gold per tonne. Overall, the hole returned 43.2 metres of 3 grams gold.

Other highlights include: hole 76, which returned 34.7 metres of 0.61 gram gold; hole 77, which returned 75 metres starting at 1 metre of 2.22 grams, including 24.9 metres grading 4.72 grams; hole 80, which intersected 22 metres of 0.64 gram; hole 81, which returned 41.5 metres near surface grading 3.78 gram (including 11.5 metres of 9.03 gram); hole 82, which intersected 36 metres from surface of 2.08 grams, including 10 metres grading 4.05 grams; hole 83, which returned 19.5 metres of 5.7 grams gold, including 9.7 metres grading 10.15 grams; and hole 85, which returned 31.4 metres of 1.68 grams.

Elsewhere in the Dominican Republic, a strong copper anomaly of between 2.5 and 4,670 parts per million copper-in-soils has been outlined on the Majagual copper-gold property.

IMPACT Minerals (IPT-V) can earn a 60% interest in the project from Energold by spending $1.25 million over four years.

The anomaly, known as the Cinco zone, measures 1,000 by 400 metres and is open to the southeast.

A coincident gold-in-soils anomaly with gold values up to 1 gram is also present. Float and outcrop samples grade up to 4 grams gold and 7% copper.

Of 323 samples analyzed, 72 averaged 0.56 gram gold per tonne, whereas 16 averaged greater than 1 gram.

Copper mineralization is more widespread than gold mineralization. Coincident molybdenum values and peripheral zinc anomalies also occur, suggesting the presence of a porphyry system.
