EuroZinc cuts good grades at Aljustrel

Drill results from the Feitais deposit on the formerly producing Aljustrel property in southern Portugal bode well for EuroZinc Mining (EZM-V).

The newly formed company — an amalgamation of two Vancouver-based juniors, Auspex Minerals and International Vestor Resources — stands to earn a 75% interest in Aljustrel from Portuguese state-owned Empressa de Desenvolvimento Mineiro by returning the property to production.

To date, EuroZinc has completed 4,450 metres of a 12,000-metre program of infill drilling.

The four holes drilled at the Feitais deposit intersected impressive widths of zinc, silver, copper and lead mineralization. Highlights are as follows (all intersections are reported as true widths):

  • Hole 33 was collared 70 metres updip from previously reported hole 32, which returned a copper-rich interval averaging 4.46% copper over 24.49 metres. Hole 33 cut 70.36 metres averaging 1.73% copper, 0.67% lead and 1.91% zinc, plus 0.44 gram gold and 31.84 grams silver per tonne starting at a down-hole depth of 231.75 metres. This included an 11.07-metre interval of 2.6% copper, 1.12% lead, 2.64% zinc, 0.25 gram gold and 48.92 grams silver starting at a down-hole depth of 271.75 metres. At 295.75 metres down-hole, an 11.3-metre interval assayed 3.23% copper, 0.6% lead, 1.66% zinc, 0.24 gram gold and 29.4 grams silver. The hole also cut a 1.57-metre zinc zone that assayed 0.16% copper, 1.93% lead, 8.05% zinc, 0.63 gram gold and 88.7 grams silver starting at a down-hole depth of 222.10 metres.
  • Hole 34 intersected 7.83 metres averaging 0.08% copper, 2.4% lead, 8.02% zinc, 0.83 gram gold and 77.96 grams silver starting at a down-hole depth of 241.8 metres. This was followed by a 48.14-metre section that averaged 0.15% copper, 1.58% lead, 5.18% zinc, 0.57 gram gold and 55.66 grams silver starting at 263.85 metres down-hole. Included in this second interval was a 19.4-metre section grading 0.11% copper, 2.27% lead, 7.35% zinc, 0.62 gram gold and 82.33 grams silver.
  • Hole 35 returned 31.9 metres of 0.24% copper, 1.48% lead, 5.98% zinc, 0.94 gram gold and 60.49 grams silver starting at a down-hole depth of 235.1 metres. Included in this interval was a 7.09-metre section averaging 0.13% copper, 1.45% lead, 6.61% zinc, 1.08 grams gold and 59.47 grams silver. This was followed by a 11.96-metre section of 0.27% copper, 2.13% lead, 8.96% zinc, 0.91 gram gold and 91.43 grams silver.
  • Hole 36 cut an 8.35-metre interval averaging 0.1% copper, 3.39% lead, 9.03% zinc, 0.88 gram gold and 121.14 grams silver starting at a down-hole depth of 236.55 metres.

EuroZinc has mobilized a second surface drill to the property, while, at the same time, is preparing to begin underground drilling.

The company has 50 million shares fully diluted and working capital of $2.25 million.
