Success has resulted from initial bioleach tests on copper sulphide ores from the Santo Tomas porphyry property in western Mexico.
Exall Resources (TSE) submitted a composite sample to the Rio Tinto Zinc testing plant in Spain, which had total copper recoveries of more than 90%. More tests will be done to confirm these results.
Reconnaissance and exploratory work has extended the deposit in both directions. Reserves to date total 4.2 billion lb. copper, with gold and molybdenum credits. A feasibility study is to be completed in 1994. Exall is exploring copper-gold projects in Mexico and diamond-gold projects in Guyana. A joint-venture agreement with American Barrick (TSE) enables it to look for gold in Mexico.
The Santo Tomas ground is in Sinaloa state.
