Nine reverse-circulation holes will test three volcanogenic massive sulphide targets, as well as a separate area characterized by high chargeability and low gravity.
The geophysical anomalies, which are thought to reflect sediment-hosted silver-zinc-lead mineralization, occur southeast of where core holes 2 and 3 were drilled.
The former returned several 1-to-6-metre-wide intervals containing up to 2.2% lead, 1.9% zinc and 122 grams silver in brecciated and stockworked sedimentary rocks.
Similar alteration and silicification were intersected in hole 3, but the mineralization was found to consist of anomalous arsenic and antimony.
Ampola consists of eight properties covering 21,542 ha. Aurado can acquire a 49% interest in the project from the Mexican subsidiary of Cominco by paying US$50,000 and spending US$3 million on exploration. Cominco can earn back a 75% interest by spending an additional US$6 million on exploration.
