EXPLORATION 1999 – MEXICAN ROUNDUP — Gamon pins hopes on Brenda

Producer hopeful Gammon Lake Resources (GAML-C) is continuing with surface and underground exploration at the Brenda mine near Ocampo in Chihuahua state, Mexico.

Gamon can earn a 60% interest in the 468-ha property by spending US$200,000 on exploration and development, as well as paying US$3.23 million and issuing 2.5 million shares to the vendors. The company has retained Denver-based Behre Dolbear to assist in its assessment.

The latest results from surface chip sampling include 65 metres averaging 1.42 grams gold and 79.45 grams silver. Similar sampling underground also proved encouraging, the best values being 10.49 and 400 grams gold and silver, respectively, over 1.5 metres.

Gamon is awaiting results from a 180-tonne bulk sample that is being processed on site. Drilling is expected to begin shortly.

Brenda is one of many small-scale operations that dot the countryside of northern Mexico. The vendors have focused solely on the epithermal veins — a strategy that has rewarded them with consistent grades of between 4 and 6 grams gold, and 100 and 150 grams silver.
