An agreement worth $2.5 million has been signed by Exploration Miniere Ligneris for its 1987 exploration program with Oberon, President Benoit Violette announced at the company’s recent annual meeting.
The main mining properties in which Ligneris has an interest and which the company will explore using the funds from the agreement, which is subject to regulatory approval, are Grevet, Berry- Trecesson and Courville,Que.
The Grevet property is 1,920 acres in size. Sampling has produced results of 19.07 g gold per tonne across 0.3 m and 4.79 g across 0.61 m. Zinc and copper have also been identified.
At the Berry-Trecesson property, 1,600 acres in size, gold seems to be associated wth chalcopyrite mineralization disseminated in the veins. The best grades assayed at 51.77 g. Systematic sampling over the veins produced an assay of 0.34 g. Samples of silver have been assayed at 4.46 g.
At the 1,200-acre Courville property, the best grade assayed was 9.94g gold in a selected sample, while in the west zone the results were 9.93 g over a length of 0.3 m as well as a selected sample which assayed at 51.43 g.
Incomplete results from the 1986 drilling program on two properties, in Glandelet Twp. and Ligneris Twp., have been released by Ligneris, a company established in 1985.
On the Glandelet Twp. property, which is located southwest of Mines d’Or Perron, one drill hole intersected several shear zones within a gabbro bed-vein. Best assays from this section revealed grades of 0.68 g gold over a length of 2.1 m.
Drilling on the Ligneris Twp. property, located immediately to the south of Vior-Sigma, revealed a sequence of mafic rock in the northern sector, and pyroclastic falsite and sedimentary rock in the southern sector. The mafic rock is highly deformed and contains 1%-5% disseminated pyrite and small veins of quartz and carbonate along the fringe of the formation.
