Fairbanks set for gold rush centenary

In recognition of the centenary of the Alaska-Yukon gold rush, an international symposium on mining history will be held in Fairbanks from Sept. 9 to 14, 1997.

Papers will be presented on various subjects, including: earth sciences and sociology; mineral processing history; and science and technology.

Panel discussions will address: the gold rush in retrospect; politics and mining; and psychology and mining.
