Gold production at the Oronorte project in Colombia topped 1,045 oz. in October, well above the average monthly figure of 611 oz.
All production came from the Limon underground mine, where high-grade ore accounted for the increase.
The mine has been operating for six years, producing about 7,500 oz. per year. Fischer-Watt acquired the property earlier this year from Greenstone Resources (TSE).
Fischer-Watt and privately held Great Basin Exploration are still working on their proposed merger, and a deal is expected to be inked before the end of November.
The companies plan to continue working as separate units, with Great Basin becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Fischer-Watt.
