Flint Rock sinks six holes at Shabu

Six holes have now been put down by Flint Rock Mines on its leased Shabu Lake gold property, 43 miles east of Red Lake in northwestern Ontario. All intersected the main vein, with appreciable visible gold in four of these, reports President A. J. Lewis.

This work confirms the narrow but good grade found by Prospectors Airways in 1937 when that company put down 28 drill holes that averaged 1.57 oz across 0.44 ft. for a length of 1,500 ft.

Further drilling is to be undertaken, including the probing of anomalous zones picked up by a recent ip survey along the same diorite-granodiorite contact that hosts this vein.
