Toronto-based Fort Knox Gold Resources (TSE) says it plans to begin drilling soon on 31 claims in Fawcett Twp. near the Shiningtree area of Ontario in the hope of finding a volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit.
After conducting electromagnetic surveys and reconnaissance work on two separate areas, Fort Knox is optimistic about the outcome of future exploration. The company recently located two strong bedrock conductors in a stratagraphic sequence of felsic pyroclastics and basaltic flows. Copper-zinc-gold mineralization has been traced along strike for 3,000 ft.
According to Fort Knox, mineralization is located in hydrothermally altered volcanics.
