Using a public financing completed in July, Fortune Bay Resources (VSE) will begin trenching and drilling on its Isle Aux Mort gold property this month. Fortune will be investigating a sheeted quartz vein which appears to have a strike length of 850 metres and is open in both directions. Grab samples from the mineralized vein have assayed as high as 2 oz. gold per ton and average about 0.263 oz.
The discovery lies about eight kilometres from Dolphin Explorations’ (TSE) Cape Ray gold project which, with government assistance, could develop into a 30,000-oz.- per-year operation.
