Sulphur hot topic in Vienna

The overabundance of sulphur and sulphuric acid, created as a byproduct in the production of copper, zinc and nickel and in the processing of oil and gas, will be discussed at Sulphur 2002, slated for Oct. 27-30 in Vienna, Austria.

The oversupply could curtail production of oil and gas, and various base metals.

The conference is expected to attract more than 400 delegates, as well as speakers from Canada, Japan, the Middle East, Europe and Russia.

Other scheduled topics include the production of sulphur from the oil sands in northern Alberta and Mexico’s hydrocarbons industry.
