Funding available in New Brunswick

A new mineral resource policy will provide $200,000 for geoscience investigation in New Brunswick.

The provincial government said the funds are intended to help the private sector in its mineral exploration efforts.

Another $50,000 per year is being allocated through the policy’s Mineral Exploration Stimulation Program to assist prospectors in their search for new reserves.

The provincial minister of state for mines and energy, Doug Tyler, said the Geological Survey of Canada will be working in the Bathurst area on a program known as EXTECH. It will focus on geological studies and the application of advanced techniques for exploration and the gathering of geoscience information.
