Gem Safari planned for `Down Under’

A Vancouver mining engineer and gemmologist will lead a tour of Australia for hunters on the trail of opals, sapphires and other gems. Led by Ron Stokes, the opal and gem safari will run from late October through to mid-November, starting in Sydney, Australia. The tour will include visits to old gold mining districts, the black opal fields of Lightning Ridge, and other established gem mining areas of northern New South Wales.
